Acquiring a Fits Reader



    Goddard Space Flight Center has a large list of available FTS readers. See http://fits.gsfc.nasa.gov/fits_viewer.html .

    fv is located at HEASARC at http://heasarc.nasa.gov/ftools/fv/. It works on many platforms, is free, and allows one to view and edit any FITS format image or table, even multi-layer files.

    Many places already have ds9, SAOImage. Anyone who uses IRAF uses this but it is a stand-alone. It can be downloaded located at http://ds9.si.edu/site/Home.html
