MARS PHOENIX LANDER POINT-BY-POINT SURFACE METEOROLOGY DATA PAGE
Mars Phoenix Lander - Derived Near-Surface Temperatures and Pressures
The Viking 1 Meteorology Boom, on which were located the wind speed and direction sensors and the Ambient and Reference temperature sensors
Above are shown Bin Averaged Viking Lander 1 Temperature, Pressure, and Wind Speed measurements obtained during a 20-sol interval of the Viking Lander 1 mission during which the 1977b global dust storm developed.
Each 'bin' spans 1/25th of a martian sol, and thus represents a bit less than one hour of data. VL1 binned data are available for sols 1-350 of the mission in the vl_mbin.dat file within the data folder of the vl_1001 Viking lander data archive. The wind speeds (zonal :east, west and meridional: north, south) within this dataset for sols 45-350 were derived including signals from the wind direction sensor which ceased normal operation after sol 44.
Bin averaged data for VL1, sols 1-40 and also for VL2, sols 1-1050 are available within a second data set (vl_tbin.dat) available within the same data folder within the vl_1001 archive.
